You are about to create a poem with three other people using only Google Drive to Collaborate.
A few notes about collaborating online: * It is important to respect each other's work. You never change the work of your partner without discussing the edit first. If you notice an error or have an idea, you may make a comment using Google drive, or email them. * You are sharing this will your teacher and other students. It must be school appropriate. Remember I can track every keystroke you have made, so stay on track. * You may end up working on more than 3 poems. That is fine! Help each other out. These are fast, fun poems!
HERE WE GO: 1. Open a new window and log on to your email.
2. Click on the keypad icon at the top of the page, and select drive (the triangle icon).
3. Click on "Create" and select "Document". Title this Document Your last name and the word Poem. For example: I would title it "CioncaPoem"
4. Begin your poem using the poem format below. You may write your poem on any school appropriate subject you wish. You will write the Title and first line of each stanza. You should have three stanzas. So it appears like this:
Frogs
Frogs are amazing, slimy and green.
Frogs hop, bounce and flip.
Frogs eat beetles, bugs and flies.
5. Share your Google Document with another person by clicking "share" and then typing the person's email address under "invite people". Be sure you have selected "can edit", so that they may add to your poem. This person will write the next line in each stanza. Like this: *NOTE: THIS POEM DOES NOT HAVE TO RHYME! (you) Frogs are amazing, slimy and green. (Partner 1) They Hide where they cannot be seen.
(you) Frogs hop, bounce and flip. (Partner 1) The dance they do is so hip!
(you) Frogs eat beetles, bugs and flies. (Partner 1) They have super big bulgy eyes.
And you will write the next line in each stanza on their poem.
5. When they have finished the second line in each stanza, share your poem with a new person. They will write the third line in your poem, and you can write the third line in their poem. So it looks something like this:
(you) Frogs are amazing, slimy and green. (Partner 1) They Hide where they cannot be seen. (Parnter 2) I never met a frog who was mean. (you) Frogs hop, bounce and flip. (Partner 1) The dance they do is so hip! (Partner 2) So cool, they never trip. (you) Frogs eat beetles, bugs and flies. (Partner 1) They have super big bulgy eyes. (Partner 2) Frogs do not eat french fries. 6. When the third line of each stanza is complete, you will write the fourth and final line in each stanza of your original poem.
(you) Frogs are amazing, slimy and green. (Partner 1) They Hide where they cannot be seen. (Parnter 2) I never met a frog who was mean. (you) They are like little jumping machines (you) Frogs hop, bounce and flip. (Partner 1) The dance they do is so hip! (Partner 2) So cool, they never trip. (you) Because their toes have such sticky grip. (you) Frogs eat beetles, bugs and flies. (Partner 1) They have super big bulgy eyes. (Partner 2) Frogs do not eat french fries. (you) Believe me, I don't tell lies.
7. When you are done, share your original poem with Ms. Cionca at http://www.teachertube.com/video/web-search-strategies-in-plain-english-52115.
